Dr Borovik is an Ophthalmic surgeon specialising in Corneal, Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

Dr Borovik undertook Ophthalmology training at Prince of Wales Hospital.

In his final year he acted as the Professorial Senior registrar. He completed a further 2 year subspeciality fellowship program at the University of Toronto, Canada under renowned surgeon Dr David Rootman. Here he gained experience in all aspects of corneal surgery including minimally invasive partial thickness transplantation techniques as well as insertion of artificial corneas. He also gained extensive refractive surgical expertise and was awarded the Lim Family Memorial Award for superior surgical and clinical skills.

Dr Borovik has published numerous articles in the peer reviewed literature, lectured widely at international conferences including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. He has also served as a surgical instructor for courses in corneal surgery and complex ocular surgical techniques.

His areas of interest include:

  • Corneal transplantation including partial thickness techniques such as DALK and sutureless DMEK surgery
  • Laser vision correction
  • Implantable contact lenses
  • Keratoconus management including intracorneal ring segments and collagen cross linking
  • Cataract surgery and refractive lens surgery
  • Sutureless pterygium surgery

Dr Borovik is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
